OPENING CEREMONIES

President Doug tried to remember how to run a Rotary meeting after a week off.  The pledge was led by someone shouting “face the flag!” from the mass of humanity that is our club. Brandon Ulrich then gave the invocation with some quotes by Mark Twain:

It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”

Hey, it’s Trivia Day! Do you know Mark Twain’s real name?

VISITING ROTARIANS / GUESTS

Dan Erickson, a former member of our club and current member of Healdsburg Sunrise was our only visiting Rotarian today. Guests included: Kim Murphy’s beloved Dwayne, Bart Eddy‘s lovely wife (whose name I did not catch), and Joy Parker’s spouse, Bob.

SUNSHINE REPORT

Dan Shell and Jack Abercrombie are still on the mend. Jack will be back next week after a bout with pneumonia.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Ted Wilmsen is still trying to fill a few spots for assistants to deliver dictionaries to 3rd graders.

PROGRAM

Don McMillan tried desperately in his maiden voyage running the Trivial Pursuit game. It was like watching him herd cats while trying to balance plates spinning on a stick while break dancing.  Table 7 was the eventual winner in what may have been the shortest Trivia game ever.

(And we thought our club was smart?) Table 3 came in a feeble second and teams at the rest of the tables were just pathetic. The Rowdy table had an especially disappointing performance.  The obvious goal for President Doug in 2016 should be to recruit smarter members…….
