Kris Anderson says the pot was approximately $93.00 and there are 6 marbles left.  Jose Guillen had the right number, but he did not pull the right marble. Only 5 for next week!

Cathy Vicini’s Joke of the Week:

Ed and Linda met on a singles cruise and Ed fell head over heels for her. When they discovered they lived in the same city, only a few miles apart, Ed was ecstatic. He immediately started asking her out when they got home.

Within a couple of weeks, Ed had taken Linda to dance clubs, restaurants, concerts, movies, and museums. Ed became convinced that Linda was indeed his soul mate and true love.

Every date seemed better than the last. On the one-month anniversary of their first dinner on the cruise ship, Ed took Linda to a fine restaurant.

While having cocktails and waiting for their salad, Ed said, “I guess you can tell I’m very much in love with you. I’d like a little serious talk before our relationship continues. So, before I get a box out of my jacket and ask you a life changing question, it’s only fair to warn you, I’m a total golf nut. I play golf, I read about golf, I watch golf on TV. In short, I eat, sleep, and breathe golf. If that’s going to be a problem for us, you’d better say so now!”

Linda paused, then responded, “Ed, that certainly won’t be a problem. I love you as you are, and I love golf too; but, since we’re being totally honest with each other, you need to know that for the last five years I’ve been a hooker.”

Ed said, “It’s probably because you’re not keeping your wrists straight when you hit the ball.”

Announcements:

President Tony regrets to inform us that the lunch price is going up January 1^st to $29.00.  Also, there will no longer be a dessert option.

Pete Lescure is looking for fellowship signups. 

Steve Olson showed us the new flyer for the Wes Jameson Fund and announced the new program whereby the fund provides scholarships for the kids in FFA to buy a lamb/goat/pig to raise for the animal auction at the Sonoma County Fair.

Rio Ray let us know that for the previous weekend Rotary bell ringers raised $2405!  More bell ringers needed for this weekend.

Ann and Jeff Gospe will be hosting a Rotary Christmas social at their home on Friday, December 21^st.  Please bring your beverage of choice and hors d’oeuve, dessert or other side dish to share.  More details to follow.

Judy Glenn still needs cookies for the Nutcracker on December 15^th

Ted Wilmsen is now taking signups for the dictionaries in January.

Welcome Back Mary Graves!

Mary was a member of our club from 1993 to 2007.  She left for help start the Rancho-Cotati Club.  Her work is now done and she has come home! Debi Zaft is her sponsor.

Rotarian of the Month:

For her dogged determination to help Tim Fawcett (among other things) Casey Carter was named Rotarian of the Month.  She has been invaluable in her organizing people to assist Tim.  Good job Casey!

Recognitions:

Debi Zaft had a great time in Germany with her daughter.  They hoped to go to the town where her dad was from, but the town closes on weekends!

Debi brought back a beer stein and a bottle of German beer.  President Tony auctioned them off for $30.00

Jeanne Levin was sad to lose all her music with the fire last year but was please to know that all the albums/CDs that she bought on Amazon were still there, but she had nothing to play them on.  But now she has about 463 songs on a thumb drive that she can play in her car.

November and December Birthdays:

Today we had our own Layne Bowen on guitar with his friend, vocalist, Cori Woods.  They brought along with them Paul Shelasky, a noted fiddler in California and other parts of the United States.  They played several blue grass songs.  Paul told some jokes in between numbers. 

Vigil Lights 2018:

Kim Graves, Rich de Lambert, Sam McMillan, Ann Gospe, Peggy Soberanis, Chip Rawson, Ginny Cannon and Kris Anderson went to Vigil Lights after this week’s meeting to sing Christmas songs, share cookies and bring poinsettias to the residents of Vigil Light.
