Annette O’Kelley has dedicated her life to agricultural education as a teacher, mentor and community leader. In 2015, O’Kelley retired from her 34-year career in the classroom, holding teaching positions at both Santa Rosa & Elsie Allen high schools. The classroom provided her the opportunity to teach the basics of agriculture while encouraging them to engage in community service, public speaking and leadership.
O’Kelley was raised on a ranch in Santa Rosa near her family’s Lawson’s Corner at Hwy 12 and Melita Road. She was a member of Rincon Valley and later Kenwood 4-H clubs. In high school, she joined the FFA at Santa Rosa High School.
Annette is very involved in the local community/ ag industry. She has served as a Director for the Sonoma County Fair for the past 18 years. And served as their President in 2006. In addition, Annette has been honored with numerous awards, such as:
FFA – Honorary American Farmer,
California Agricultural Teachers’ Association – Teacher of Excellence
Sonoma County 4-H Foundation – 4-H Alumni Recognition
