Ronald J. Henderson is a native of Pontiac, Michigan. He has been active in the Funeral business since his sophomore year in college, 1969. He am in his 44th year of continuously serving families during the hardest day of their lives. He have a BS degree in Industrial Management with a Business and Management concentration and a Diploma in Mortuary Science. Beginning as a general laborer at a funeral home in Pontiac, he has worked at all levels from gopher, janitor, driver, apprentice, embalmer, funeral director, manager, and general manager. Ron came to California in 1977 working in San Rafael for 27 years and being a general manage of 4 mortuaries, Keaton’s in San Rafael and Novato, and Fred Young in Healdsburg and Cloverdale. He moved to Eggen and Lance Mortuary in 2004 and became associated with the Odd Fellows Cemetery & Funeral Association in the fall of 2005. He has been at Fred Young F.H. since the mortuary was purchased by the Odd Fellows in Sept. of 2007.
Mr. Henderson will be discussing how he came to the funeral industry, education, funeral history, the science of embalming, history of cremation, and various other questions that arise. He will try to dispel as many myths as possible in the time allowed.
