Susan Brints and husband Cal are members of the Metropolitan Lubbock Rotary Club, and Susan has 16 years of perfect attendance in Rotary and looks forward to serving D5730 as District Governor year 2016-17. Susan has served as Assistant District Governor in District 5730 for Area 6, is Past President of her Rotary Club, has served on numerous club and district committees, is presently serving on the district and club Rotary Youth Exchange Committees, and serves the district as Global Grants Chair on the Foundation Committee. Susan received the Outstanding Rotarian Award for District 5730, co-chaired the district’s Million Dollar Dinner, and served as the Team Leader for the Global Grant Vocational Training Team to Malawi, Africa. She is certified as a Visioning Facilitation Trainer and along with her husband has hosted many exchange students and GSE team members for the past 30 years. Susan is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Paul Harris Society member, a Rotary Benefactor and Bequest Society member, a charter member of the Rotary Wine Appreciation Fellowship and member of the Global History Fellowship.
Susan Brints graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Design and from the University of Minnesota with a graduate degree in Textile Research and Statistics with post graduate work in Accounting. Susan and Cal developed and operated both Apple Country Orchards with 6000 apple and fruit trees, store, bakery and farmers markets, and Oak Creek Manufacturing. Susan is currently serving as the Executive Director of the 1000 member Texas Certified Farmers Market Association and has served on numerous community boards in many capacities. Susan and Cal have two married daughters, one married son, and seven grandchildren. Interests and hobbies include travel and textile arts.
