Joseph Dorfman came to this country from Russia in 1927. He spoke no english and had only a 3rd grade education. He subsequently became a very successful businessman and instilled his three children with a commitment to education. All three children are college graduates and believe the best way to honor the legacy of their father is to assist others in completing their college educations. It is toward this end that the Joseph Dorfman Memorial Scholarship was established.
Two scholarships are awarded annually to high achieving Santa Rosa Junior College students who are transferring to the university level.
