The fund was established in 1990 as a memorial fund to honor Wes Jamison, a highly acclaimed agricultural teacher, rancher, fair official and community leader. Wes taught agriculture and served as the FFA Advisor at Santa High for 38 years where he earned a national reputation as judging team coach and mentor to thousands of students pursuing careers in agriculture. At the time of his retirement, more of his students had earned the American Farmer Degree, the highest honor awarded by the National FFA Association, than any other high school in the nation.

Wes was a pioneer in the local fair industry having served many years as the livestock superintendent and manager of the Sonoma County Fair and founder of the Sonoma County Harvest Fair. He also was an active member of the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa until his passing in 1989 and was best noted for his chairmanship of the “Rotary Rural-Urban Committee” which aimed to build a strong connection between the business and agriculture communities.

Please consider making a contribution to the Wes Jamison Agricultural Endowment Fund thereby supporting local high school FFA students develop their leadership skills as well as helping the Agriculture Departments at Santa Rosa and Elsie Allen High Schools with much needed instructional equipment and supplies.
