Our Program for June 24th:
THE DEBUNKING OF PRESIDENT BURCHILL
The 93rd year of The Rotary Club of Santa Rosa is coming to a close, a year marked with highs & lows of completing several surveys asking us what was good (or bad) about (almost) everything about our club. Come and celebrate the end of another year having to withstand the characteristics and foibles of our esteemed leader. Don’t be Square but Be There – to share in this fine Rotary tradition! It is usually the best meeting of the year.
Wednesday, July 8th: Sonoma State University President Dr. Ruben Arminana
Wednesday, July 15th: Rotaplast
Wednesday, July 22nd: Ebola
Presiding: President Mark Burchill
Pledge: Fred Levin
Thought for the Day: Mike Kallhoff offered a “seat of his pants” 4 way test message that was highlighted by his admission that he was unprepared today. That honesty fit well with the topic. Bravo Mike!
Dominic Walker from the West Santa Rosa Club.
GUESTS OF ROTARIANS
Will Haymaker welcomed Kathy Schwartz, who has just relocated from San Diego, Joy Parker introduced her hubby Bob, David Brown introduced son Jake Brown, Incoming President Doug Johnson welcomed Dentist Andy McCormick and Nicole Griffith, from Proteus Marketing.
Doug Roberts led today’s raffle and Ted Wilmsen had the lucky ticket but failed to pick the lucky marble. More in the pot for next week!
Prez Mark presented Doug Roberts his blue badge for completing the requirements and paid a $10 spot for the honor.
- Karen Ball reminded all about the social today at De Meo Park beginning at 5:30
- Doug Johnson made a shout out for volunteers to help stuff the swag bags and day goods this Saturday from 9am to 1pm at Discovery Office Systems for next week’s Giro Bello.
- Past President Peggy Soberanis reminded those involved that the last rehearsal for next week’s debunking will be immediately after the today’s meeting (anybody thinking “surveys”?).
- Lena Humber asked for Red Badgers and others to step up and volunteer for the variety of meeting duties, i.e.; greeters, ticket takers etc. for the upcoming July meetings.

Nicole Le prepaid $50 to the club for her upcoming family trip to Maui.
Emily Harrington purchased a camper and will be heading out with her boys this weekend for a camping trip. She donated $50 to the Giro Bello (Blaine Goodwin shared that his grandsons will also be going on that camping trip and made a $50 donation as well).
Tim Delaney will miss next week’s Giro Bello. Instead, he’ll be attending his son’s wedding. He in turn donated $50 to the event.
Rotary’s form of “Speed Dating” took place for 10 minutes prior to the program to get to know each other just a little bit better. Today’s speed dating session looked more like Prez Mark trying to herd cats! Speaking of cats and other furry critters…….
The program today was about communicating with our pets. Pet Psychic Marla Steele shared her experiences and stories about working with pet owners and how we communicate with our pets. She offered that all of us are “psychic” to the degree that you let yourself be. She has been a regular on our local radio station KZST for the last 12 years and has been on TV and radio shows throughout the country. She ended her talk with a reading of pets from 3 of our own Rotarians.
President Mark closed the meeting thanking those who helped put on today’s meeting and reminded all of us that he has one week left….debunking next week!
Those helping were Greeters: Marnie Goldschlag & Bill Rousseau; Ticket Seller: Ray Giampaoli; Raffle: Doug Roberts.; Ticket Taker: Bill Hatcher; Scribe: David Brown; Mic Jockey: Cathy Vicini
