Cathy’s Clown Show

Have you ever wondered why wearing earrings became so popular with men? A man is at work one day when he notices that his co-worker is wearing an earring.
The man knows his co-worker to be a normally conservative fellow, and is curious about his sudden change in “fashion sense”.  So he walks up to him and says, “I didn’t know you were into earrings.” “Don’t make such a big deal, it’s only an earring,” the man replies sheepishly. His friend falls silent for a few minutes, but then his curiosity prods him to ask, “So, how long have you been wearing one?”

“Ever since my wife found it in my truck.”

Program

Today’s program was Rotarian Vicki Whiting who spoke to us about her Awaken the Magic of Reading program focused on providing reading content for children as well as giving children the opportunity to write for thousands of readers. Vicki shared copies of her Kids Scoop News, a publication she produces to give kids fun and educational reading material at an early age. Vicki stressed the importance of children reading by 3rd grade and how reading is fundamental to having a successful career later in adulthood. In fact, reading is so very important to anyone wishing to participate in any meaningful way in society. Vicki noted how many Rotarians participate in reading with children.
