About Rotary Club of Santa Rosa

Rotary is an organization of business and professional people who see the connection of community to self and contribute their time and energy to making Santa Rosa and Sonoma County a better place to live.

Founded in Chicago in 1905 by Paul Harris, the meeting place rotated from one member's business to another's, leading to the name Rotary. Today, Rotary is truly global, boasting approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belonging to more than 29,000 Rotary clubs in more than 160 countries worldwide.

On a local level, some of the projects Rotary has raised money for include the Redwood Empire Food Bank truck; a play park for children with special abilities in Howarth Park, and the Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Mobile Kitchen.
