President’s Message – 2021-2022

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa.

President Ray Giampaoli, 2021 – 2022

This year we are celebrating our 100th anniversary as an active Rotary Club in our community and we are excited about the many service projects both locally and globally that we are preparing for.

The Rotary Club of Santa Rosa is comprised of 80 diverse members who are local business people and leaders.  Our members included actively working and retired health care professionals, tradesmen/women, members of the financial, agriculture and education industries, and municipal employees.  Rotary is the great equalizer where we value each member for the talents and experiences that they bring to the club.

Rotary is an international service organization located on every continent of the world, in over 200 countries, with over 1 million members, all marching to the same tune “Service above Self”.  Our international theme for 2021/22 is Serve to Change Lives.  We change lives locally through hands on projects supporting the local parks and recreation department, Salvation Army, Redwood Empire Food Bank, Pepperwood Preserve, and other nonprofit organizations.

We change lives globally by funding or participating in projects to eradicate polio, provide clean water and sanitation, education, telemedicine, and peace building.  We are excited to be planning a hands on project in Mexico this year where our Rotarians will assist a local club in Puerto Vallarta, MX in providing water purifiers to underserved members of outlying communities who have limited or no access to clean water.

Our clubs annual theme is Bring a Friend to Rotary.  We believe that the more we do, the more we will grow.  Helping our community requires Rotary power and we are excited about the opportunity to invite and include more service minded Santa Rosans to join us in our endeavors.

Ever see the Salvation Army Canteen truck?  That is Rotary.

Ever talk to a 3rd grade student excited about getting their own dictionary? That is Rotary.

Ever see fresh trees planted in fire affected areas around Lake County?  That is Rotary.

Ever see folks picking up trash in Doyle Park?  That is Rotary.

Ever see buyers of local FFA students’ livestock at the Sonoma County Fair?  That is Rotary.

Ever see a happy group filling bags of vegetables at Redwood Food Bank?  That is Rotary.

We would love to see you there too.
