The Rotary Club of Santa Rosa Bulletin for June 17, 2020

Opening Ceremonies:

Pledge:  Ted Wilmsen
Reflection #1:  Ted Wilmsen says he thinks that he has recited the Pledge of Allegiance about 5000 +/- times in his lifetime.   In thinking about that last line, “justice for all,” not everyone in this country has had justice.  The Black Lives Matter demonstrations have made him think about justice.  From now on when he recites the Pledge of Allegiance, he will put emphasis on that last work, “All.”
Refection #2:  President Cathy had a thoughtful reflection. “Everyone has a story to tell.  Share your story.  Be the difference.”
Visiting Rotarians:  no one today.  Where was Jackie McMillan?
Guests:  Chad Maxwell’s mom, Barb Maxwell was on the call today.
Sunshine Report:  Just that Ann Gospe’s minor knee surgery went well, and she is already off her crutches.
Raffle:  What raffle?  But everyone has their playing cards saved for when we go back the Flamingo!

Rotarian of the Year:

Duh!  It is Ray Giampaoli!  He took on the Giro Bello and so many other projects for our club.  President Cathy says she will have an extra gift delivered to his home since there will be no free lunches anytime soon.  President Cathy is also delivering a present to last year’s winner, Casey D’Angelo for the same reason.

President Cathy’s Thank You:

President Cathy thanked each member of her board for their hard work this past, challenging year.

Program:

Today’s speaker was James Allen, a motivational speaker and coach.  He had a rather unorthodox upbringing. His parents were in a violent motorcycle gang. His mom shot his dad in a violent argument that was the end of his family.  He tried construction, but it was not satisfying work.  He discovered Mary Morrisey, a life coach, and knew that was what he wanted to be.

He gave out his phone number 657-310-2055 and said that if we texted him the word “focus” we could get a one-hour free consultation.  You can also contact him at James@JamesAllenCoaching.com.

At our meeting he shared The Vision Worksheet which included:  How to Notice Your Dreams, 3 Tools, Greater Clarity, Confidence in Abilities.  You need to decide what you want and befriend your fear.  Reconnect with the dream and take action.  Contact him for more information.
