Our 2009-2010 Rotary President

Welcome to the website for the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa. We are a service club that is part of a global organization having over 1.2 million members that belong to more than 31,000 clubs in 167 countries. The Santa Rosa Club was established in 1921 and continues to be committed to working for a better community and world.

Our Club is populated by civic minded men and women who represent a wide variety of professions and businesses.

The Santa Rosa Rotary Club has worked on and raised funds for numerous worthwhile projects and charities. Some examples include: Providing dictionaries to every third grader in Santa Rosa, building a play area for children with special needs in Howarth Park, providing a fine arts children's program, working to reduce youth gangs and providing improvements to the Apple Valley/Papago Court area of Santa Rosa. Additionally, we provide services to seniors who are shut in, as well as scholarships to high school and college students.

International work includes helping to eradicate the polio virus in underdeveloped countries and economic independence programs in Kenya and Uganda Africa, literacy and water projects in Mexico, just to name a few.

Rotary's motto is "Service Above Self" and its members have pledged themselves to ethical practices. The Rotary Club of Santa Rosa is a dynamic and welcoming service organization. We invite strong, civic minded community leaders to investigate joining our family of Rotary.

Thank you for visiting our website.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Fred Levin

The Rotary Club of Santa Rosa

The Rotary Club of Santa Rosa is an organization of nearly 200 business and professional men and women who see the connection of community to self and contribute their time and energy to making Santa Rosa and Sonoma County a better place to live.

Founded in Chicago in 1905 by Paul Harris, the meeting place rotated from one member's business to another's, leading to the name Rotary. Today, Rotary is truly global, boasting approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belonging to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs in 167 countries.

In a local level, some of the projects Rotary has raised money for include the Redwood Empire Food Bank truck, a play area for children with special abilities in Howarth Park, and a dictionary for every third grader in Santa Rosa every year. Our Centennial Project involves improvements in the Apple Valley/Papago Court area of Santa Rosa that will help make that neighborhood a healthier place to live and raise a family.
