The
Rotary Club of Santa Rosa
The Rotary
Club of Santa Rosa is an organization of nearly 200 business
and professional men and women who see the connection of community
to self and contribute their time and energy to making Santa
Rosa and Sonoma County a better place to live.
Founded
in Chicago in 1905 by Paul Harris, the meeting place rotated
from one member's business to another's, leading to the name
Rotary. Today, Rotary is truly global, boasting approximately
1.2 million Rotarians belonging to more than 31,000 Rotary
clubs in 167 countries.
In a local
level, some of the projects Rotary has raised money for include
the Redwood Empire Food Bank truck, a play area for children
with special abilities in Howarth Park, and a dictionary for
every third grader in Santa Rosa every year. Our Centennial
Project involves improvements in the Apple Valley/Papago Court
area of Santa Rosa that will help make that neighborhood a
healthier place to live and raise a family.
